"Mist!" Rethinking textile waste.
Under this motto, a network meeting was held at the Textile Centre Haslach on Friday, 14 March 2025, to which representatives from industry, crafts, design and universities were invited.
The Textile Centre Haslach and the Institute for Applied Industrial Research in Vienna are part of the EU project SYMCRAFT, which strengthens synergies between industry and trade. The project centres on the development of ideas for the future-oriented use of textile remnants from industry in the craft & design sector. The aim is to come up with new, creative solutions across all sectors and to help ensure that waste is more widely recognised as a valuable resource in the future.

Expert workshop & study visit
The network meeting was followed by a three-day expert workshop with invited craftspeople and designers. They systematically analysed the recyclability of textile waste and generated initial ideas for reuse. Interested parties were given an insight into these experiments on Monday, 17 March 2025 at 5 pm as part of a study visit, which was also attended by partners of the SYMCRAFT project from other countries.
