SYMCRAFT
The Textile Centre Haslach is working closely with the Institute for Applied Industrial Research (https://iagf.at) in Vienna on the project. Together with partners from seven other EU countries, networking opportunities are being created between crafts and industry and models for the future are being developed that should lead to long-term cooperation between industrial and craft/artisanal companies. Several network meetings and workshops are being organized in the Textile Centre Haslach, where concrete product ideas are being worked on. In addition, communication formats are to be created that raise awareness of sustainability among the general public. The European Textile Network ETN (www.etn-net.org), currently based in Haslach, is also involved in the project as an associated partner.
The project started in June 2024 and runs until the end of 2026. We are currently looking for:
- Textile companies that want to make waste available and are interested in ideas for recycling it, and
- Professional artisans, craftsmen/women, designers and creators who are interested in using textile waste as a raw material for new developments and are looking for connections to industry
If you are interested, please contact us!
In addition to the textile sector, other partners in the Symcraft project are also dealing with the topics of wood processing/furniture construction and the agricultural and food industry and are looking for synergies between crafts and industry.
