OPEN CALL: Arist Residency in Haslach 2026

The Textile Centre Haslach, in cooperation with the European Textile Network ETN, is announcing an artist-in-residence program for one person each in the following three areas from August 5th – 14th 2026:
- Tufting
- Jacquard weaving on TC1/TC2 looms
- Jacquard weaving on an electronically controlled, industrial loom

International Symcraft Network Meeting as part of ETN Summer Jumble, 18–21 July 2025

The European Textile Network (ETN) is an international community of textile creators, designers, educators and researchers that brings together professionals from across Europe at large conferences and smaller symposiums. As an associated partner, ETN is also part of the Symcraft project.

Field Trip Recap: Exploring Textile Production in the Mühlviertel

Last week, students from the department textil.kunst.design from the University of Art and Design Linz took a field trip to the Mühlviertel region to visit local textile companies. Once known for its rich linen tradition, the area now hosts a wide range of textile production. From rope making and traditional weaving to bedding and even fire hose manufacturing, there was a wide range of textile techniques to discover.

Summer Symposium Textile Kultur Haslach 2025

The TEXTILE KULTUR HASLACH summer symposium will take place between 14 July and 1 August 2025. After a year's break, Haslach will once again be transformed into a hotspot for textile enthusiasts from near and far. You can expect a wide range of exhibitions, an extensive programme of courses, numerous supporting events and, of course, the international weavers' market with Faserzone.

Selected Artists - Artist in Residence in the Textile Centre Haslach

From 6 - 15 August 2025, the Textile Centre Haslach, in cooperation with the European Textile Network, is once again offering artists the opportunity to realise their individual projects as part of an Artist in Residence residency.

The jury has now selected the following artists from around 40 applications:

◾ Tomoyo Tsurumi, JP/GB: Jacquard weaving - power loom
◾ Amy Lewis, NL: Jacquard weaving - TC2
