Haslach has a rich tradition and now presents the Museum of Weaving in new splendour. It displays the steps of processing from flax preparation to the finished linen as well as the development of the handlooms through to the Jacquard loom.

The association TEXTILE KULTUR HASLACH was founded in 1991 with the intention to further textile art and culture on a broad basis. The Textile Centre Haslach organises courses, experimental workshops and special exhibitions.

/ Manufaktur Haslach

MANUFAKTUR HASLACH is a socio-economic enterprise which has dedicated itself to processing the naturally renewable raw material of wool. Wools of merino sheep from the Mühlviertel region and from other Central European breeds are turned into yarns, fabrics and high-quality felts. Care is taken that the products be suitable to the natural material, and are of timeless quality and sound design.

/ Shuttle – Course

The Textile Centre Haslach in cooperation with the textile department of the Kunstuniversität Linz offers a one-year course as well as several advanced training seminars in the field of weaving. The course bears the title “SHUTTLE. A course for the innovative culture of weaving”. It is extra-occupational and on a modular basis, and is directed at persons with an initial training/knowledge in textiles who want to extend their knowledge and want to acquire additional qualifications.

/ Weberie

The ‘Weberie’ Department is a creative place for developing small series of high-end woven fabrics and textile concepts. On the one hand it produces a small in-house line of products which is sold in the shop of the Textile Centre Haslach; on the other hand the facilities may be used by external and cooperation partners.
